Happy National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day! So today I give you a combination of two of my great loves; peanut butter and smoothies. I can almost have a smoothie for every meal. Most days I have just one smoothie, but some days I will have two or 3. They are such a great way to get your fruits and veggies in for the day. This is one of my favorite smoothies that I make. I use PB2, which is a powdered peanut butter, I get mine on Amazon but I know you can get it in some stores. You can also use regular old peanut butter too. Grandma’s Recipe Box
I haven’t had these things in years, I forgot how good they are! When I was going through the recipe box this week, I came across this recipe. I remember Grandma Arlene always making these for Christmas. I had completely forgotten all about these bars. As a young girl these always seemed like they would be very difficult to make. I always wondered how she got the marshmallows in these things! Of course that was long before I starting baking and, well, I was glad somebody else was making them for me! Dirt Pudding, horrible name right? Don’t let the name put you off! It really is a wonderful treat.
My Mom loves to make this for us for dessert. She’s been making it for as long as I can remember. When she makes a pan of dirt pudding for all of us at any family gathering you better get it first thing or it will be gone. I think it’s her Grandma “claim to fame”.
